Creating Harmony during a Game

Often times a basketball game or football game, professional or non-professional,  may have a score of 59 to zero. How bad do you think the losing team feels? Pretty bad, right? Well, don’t keep scoring to make them feel worse. Instead ease up on the scoring. At least let the team make one point. That one point will feel like a miracle to them.

A coach can’t ask his players to stop scoring. This has to come from the players because they know how it feels to walk in the opposing team’s footstep. It may be a small thing to do; however, it restores hope to the other team.

You can create mutual harmony on the playing field with this motto, “There is no “I” in TEAM.“ When one person dominates the game, egos get inflated and deflated. The personalities are not in balance. Your team won’t be successful unless everyone is on one level. Treating everyone the same gives team members confidence.

Coaches who get there team riled up by yelling at the team members are creating not only a negativity, but bad feelings among the team members. You won’t play well when the atmosphere is negative. Instead create a positive atmosphere. It is only in a positive atmosphere that there will be growth.
