Meg Ryan's minimalist home from the website http://shine.yahoo.com/
The minimalist home can be accomplished using the techniques of feng shui. All of the unnecessary clutter from your home is put away out of sight. Amazingly, the result is an uncluttered mind - there’s a lot less stress to distract you. This idea makes the home environment more appealing.
The minimalist home is easier to clean because there are no knick knacks that have to be dusted. The only furniture in the home is essential. The living room would have a sofa and a chair, but no coffee table. How easy is it to just throw something on the coffee table making a cluttered mess? Without a coffee table, you don’t have this temptation.
In a minimalist home, the bedroom wouldn’t have a television or a computer. Rather, it would have the essentials required in a bedroom - bed, dresser, night stand, lamp. All the surfaces on the furniture are cleared of any items.
You would think that the minimalist home would be boring. Actually, the opposite is true. It is calming and fulfilling. You can , however, add some accents, like a clear vase with a flower or a clear table with a family photos. The idea that quality is more important than quantity.
