It’s old news now that 2010 is the last year Simon Cowell will be a judge on American Idol. He wants to spend more time working on his new show, “X Factor. “ The big question is, “Can anyone replace Simon Cowell?” His biting wit, sarcasm, and cockiness will be a hard number to follow. Ellen DeGeneres is onboard to replace Paula Abdul so there will still be four judges - Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardia, Ellen DeGeneres, and Simon Cowell. Everyone, especially the contestants will miss Paula Abdul, who has been dubbed “The Queen of Nice.” But Ellen is nice too.
Nothing cuts though it like “The King of Mean” - Simon Cowell. Whoever does replace Simon in 2011, can’t be nice. It just wouldn’t be American Idol. There are rumors that Jamie Foxx has put his hat in the ring. The year is young. Let’s see who else may be interested.
Another name has just popped up - Sir Elton John. Here’s another Brit who is savvy, witty, and intelligent. Many Tweeters have written in their micro blogs that they will stop watching the show. But Elton John might bright them back. The chair really needs a Brit to fill it.
