Does Obama Have a Plan B?

The mood in the White House is melancholy since Obama‘s health care plan got defeated. Along the way, supporters felt snubbed, Republicans felt left out, and corporations felt steamrolled.

Massachusetts, a predominately liberal state, is still reeling from the slam dunk victory of Republican Scott Brown. He is now on his way to the Senate to fill the late Ted Kennedy‘s seat. (Democrats have held that seat since 1952.)

The people have spoken, and Brown’s win will block Obama’s health plan. Americans have made it clear that they don’t like the health plan, and want more focus on the economy.

The administration angered and alienated liberals in his own party with all the compromises to accomplish the health care reform. The unions, who were the earliest and strongest backers in the beginning, felt alienated too.

Obama admitted to personally making some mistakes. His frequently distant and hands off style cause a huge volume of opposition. He had a tough time “breaking through the noise and speaking directly to the American people.”

Obama’s healthcare plans have been scrapped. Americans are telling him to “slow down.” And that’s exactly what Obama plans to do since he has to start all over.
