The Stimulus Package

So what are the effects of The Stimulus Package? Wasn’t tax payer money suppose to stimulate the American economy? And really, where did the tax payer money go?

In May 2009, 800 lobbyists registered to lobby stimulus issues. However, only three of the 800 lobbyists have disclosures on agency websites. Disclosures mean documenting where the money was spent.

Vice President Joe Biden is responsible for overseeing where the tax payer money is spent. However, his office hasn’t revealed anything. Why the secrets?

There were conditions when you received stimulus money. One condition was to buy American materials. This would put Americans back to work.

Products that come from China contain hazardous chemicals, such as Cadmium. The Chinese admit to using cheap materials. They say this is how they keep the price so low. However, where are the savings when baby clothes are laced with Cadmium. There is always a price to pay.  The cost is higher when you buy American made products because these products are higher quality.

It’s so tempting to make a bigger profit when you buy materials from China, which have extremely low labor costs. It seems that the stimulus package is stimulating other countries’ economies and not the American economy.
