Everywhere you look there is a vampire. However, these are not the vampires in the Bram Stroker novel. Meyer’s vampires are kinder and friendlier.
The stories appeal to adolescents, and it’s a delight seeing so many young people reading books. Surprisingly, after the movie came out, the sales for the novel soared even higher.
The “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling, which is about witches and wizards, is another series adolescent love to read. Ironically, what is getting kids to read is books about macabre subjects.
