Is Breeding the Right Thing to Do?

Since I am an animal lover, my doggie and kitty are rescues from the animal shelter. You can see in their eyes how grateful they are to me for, well, saving their lives. With the animal shelters so overcrowded, it seems to me the right thing to do.

However, there are certain instances where I would breed. My friend recently adopted a honey colored, long haired dachshund. What a surprise to see. The dog was the only honey color of the litter.The rarity, of course, must not be ignored. In this case, breeding would bring more diversity to the dachshund breed.
