Caring for Your Yard

You’ll have more success with your yard when your garden is natural. When your garden consists of the native plants and trees, you won’t have to force growth with expensive, chemical fertilizers. These plants have a natural resistance to pests and insects common in the area. The website www.for-wild.org has tips for growing native plants.

The best fertilizers are earthworms which aerate and leave the soil not too acidic and not too alkaline. You don’t fertilize to get your shrubs and trees to look fuller, you prune away the dead branches.  Initially, this will make your shrub look smaller; however, later you’ll have a fuller look.
