Everyone has a different trigger that causes anger. The trigger could be from a past issue that you never resolved. Anger also arises unexpected when a friend, family member, or your boss might make a comment that makes you see red.
The best course of action is to manage your anger. Take a deep breath; walk away from the situation; and think before you speak.
Understanding “the why” behind your anger will help you resolve the issue. Really listen to the other person to understand how he/she feels about the issue. Then the next time he/she brings up the subject, you’ll know better how to deal with it.
Sometimes it‘s a trivial point that sets you off. There is a saying, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” Take a deep breath and release the irritation. It really isn’t worth your time or energy to get angry over it.
If you are unable to control your anger, then look at counseling. Your life will improve; you’ll get along better with others; and you’ll be happy.
