An inexpensive and nutritious meal is a salad. There are all sorts of salads: fruit, meat and vegetable, vegetable, or lettuce. There is also potato, noodle, seafood, cheese, nut or egg salad.
A sweet salad dressing which includes whipped cream goes best with a fruit salad, like Ambrosia; oil and vinegar go well on a lettuce salad and Italian dressing is good on a meat and vegetable salad.
You can include in a lettuce salad cucumbers, onions, carrots, green peppers, celery, and radishes. For a little pizzaz, add nuts, raisins, cheese, croutons, sunflower seeds and bacon.
Pasta salad with olives and pepperoni with an oil and vinegar dressing is a meal in a salad. A meat and vegetable salad is also like a meal in one salad. A French dressing goes well with a curry seasoning.
